I just wrote a whole post then lost it…so let me do it again…don’t you hate that!
HOW TO INCREASE THE CHANCES OF GETTING SALES BY TAKING THE BUSINESS CARD DISPLAY WITH YOU TO MEETINGS.
Have you ever heard of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)?. If not, investigate it when you get chance…your sales will increase if you can practice it. In a nutshell, most people are either visual, auditory or kinesthetic. (mostly visual).
Me, i’m visual…I need to SEE it to believe it, or understand it. I won’t go into how to use NLP right now, but to give you a snap shot on how it works….
If you speak to someone and their response is “I SEE what you mean” then they are most likely visual. If they respond by saying “Yeh…I HEAR you on that one”, then they are most likely auditory.
So how is this going to help?
Well now that we know that most people will want to SEE the display before making a decision, then this is what you can do….
Go around and collect business cards BEFORE presenting your offer. Go home and load the business card into the front of the displays THEN go back and see them. What you will find, is that business owners will be impressed that you have already loaded their card into the front of your business card display dispenser.
Just picture showing them the display, then dispensing one of their cards and handing it to them…then saying “mr business owner, that is exactly what your clients will do who take one of your cards”. So this gives them an emotional feel as to how the process works, and what their cards will look like when the card is dispensed out of the business card display into their potential clients hand.
Does that make sense?
Summary: Take the display into the business with the business owners card ALREADY in the display…this provokes positive emotins and shows the business owner you have done your research and ground work first!
Give it a go!

To add to this post above about taking the business card display board with you, you should also try to get them to picture what a display board would look like on their wall. Why? Well the answer should be obvious. You could also get them to host a displays aswell!
“Kill two birds with one stone” as they say!
NOTE: Be prepared at all times for this question “Will I get a discount for advertising in your business card displays if I HOST one of your displays aswell?”. So what are you going to say to that?? Here is what I would say…
“You bet!”
Maybe you could do a deal, something like…”For every month you host my display Mr/Mrs business owner, in return i’ll give you a …% discount on advertising, no matter how many of my displays you choose to advertise in… so we both win… is that fair enough?”
The main message here, is to have every offer you have loaded on the tip of your tounge, ready for whatever they throw at you.
Go for it!

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TAKE TO A MEETING
In another post on this forum, nattytude mentioned she would also take some business card size magnets with her.
I just wanted to mention that again, because if the business owner doesn’t want to advertise in your business card dispenser after meeting with them the first time, you can atleast leave them with a reminder (i.e business card magnet), so atleast they can call you if they do change their mind (or starving for customers).
The reason I like the idea of leaving them a fridge magnet rather then a business card, is because the magnets generally get located in places that get read often, like the fridge, the cash register etc. Of course you will need a BIG BLARING ATTENTION GRABBING MESSAGE ON IT… refer to the manaul for an idea on what to write.
Does anyone else have any suggestions on ‘what else’ to take to meetings to help obtain advertisers for your business card dispenser?

I surely hope I don’t come across as a simpleton. or one with a cavalier attitude..but…this is not that hard…I don’t think you need to hand out magnets or any kind of inducements…I truly believe this is a one call close…PERIOD! By that I mean if they can’t look at your display and you do at least a half ass presentation and they don’t buy…I SAY…NEXT! and go find somebody else. Let them see their competitor on displays around town and they will end up calling you.
If they tell me NO…I am going to be nice…I’ll ask them “WHY” they said no… and then I will ask them the name of their biggest competitor. Amazing how the fear of loss starts working here!
My belief that if you want to be successful in this business…you don’t have time to go back to customers over and over or hope they call you…the percentages are not in your favor. A minimum goal for sales should be 10 sales per week…that’s one in the morning and one in the afternoon x 5 days…Come on!!! Don’t over analyze or over do this…you are only talking about $365+ per sale…not thousands…I wouldn’t even discount for mulitiple locations…Why should you…because you can fill it a few days faster?…Help them out and let them make payments on multiple locations but why bastardize your spaces by discounting…Tell them..”.I would love to offer you a discount but I just have too many people wanting the space that company policy won’t allow it…we’ve established a very fair price per display”…BLAME COMPANY POLICY…everyone knows you don’t screw with company policy…HA! HA!

Hi Dave,
Yep agree 100%. The magnet suggestion is for ‘the ones that get away’. Unfortunately not everyone is going to buy everytime, so if you leave them a little ‘reminder’, who knows… they might use it at some point into the future. Certainly beats leaving them with nothing.
The good thing about your posts here Dave is your belief in the value of what you are offering the client. Notice that everyone? Can you see why he is making two sales a day?
By the way, don’t tell me you’ve got your laptop with wireless connection on the gold course Dave? You’re addicted to business card dispenser advertising…I can feel it! Power to you!
Come on everyone, who’s going to offer the next gem??
