Some people have great ideas to build their businesses fast…and this is no exception!
I was ready the ‘business week’ last night and an interesting article caught my attention…and I thought I should tell you about it to open your ‘advertising’ mind.
There was a gentlemen in Asia who wanted to build a simular business to ‘Craigs List’ in the USA. He had minimal start up capital ($2500) and needed to create a way to do some unique low-cost advertising. Here’s how he grew that business to 300% larger then his nearest competitor…
You know when you go to an Asian restaurant, how they give you those ‘fortune cookies’ at the end of the meal with a lucky message inside? Well this guy came up with the idea that he would get 50,000 of these cookies manufactured ($2500 worth) by a company that was already making them. From there, he put a message inside saying “Great things will happen for you…go to www.(hiswebsite).com“.
What he then did, is went around to busy local restaurants and gave them 1000 cookies each for FREE to had out to their customers at the end of their meal. From then on it was no turning back…the business skyrocketed!
Why did it work so well? Well studies showed that 99% of people read the message in those cookies!!! I know I always do…just for abit of fun atleast. So that is VERY HIGH readership per dollar spent.
