A New ‘Photocopy’ Advertising Concept You Could Adapt to Make Money
Firstly, please understand that when I post these ’sideline’ ideas about how other people are making money selling advertising (other then using business card displays), it’s because I want to stimulate your ‘advertising radar’. My goal is to fine tune your mind to recognize opportunities that lay right infront of you that you may not be able to see otherwise.
Here is another ‘angle’ to make money with advertising that you may not have thought of that I thought was worth a mention….
“An innovative Japanese company is offering university students free photocopies. This is all about printing ads on the back of the copy paper, which is slightly thicker than normal to prevent ads from shining through. For USD $3600, advertisers can have their message printed on 10,000 sheets of paper.
Tadacopy machines have been placed at a few dozen campuses, and are a big hit with students. The company was founded by students at the universities of Keio, Chuo and Hosei, who installed the first free copy machine in April of last year. Nice one for student entrepreneurs to set up in other countries! You’ll make some extra money, your fellow students will thank you, and local advertisers will be able to reach a targeted audience in a novel way. Like any good free love concept, it’s a win-win-win situation.”
So there you have it…. it’s amazing the places that people come up with to sell advertising isn’t it!
This concept certainly got me thinking! You can be sure there are some big universities and ceratinly schools near you that you could introduce this to? I know one gentlemen that got 9 business card display boards into one university….so these type of locations are certainly great target markets.
So lets do the numbers on this deal: For $3600, the advertiser their message printed on 10,000 peices of paper. If you were to go and buy 10,000 peices of paper and have the message printed, you would probably only pay 5c per copy for that volume at the local kinkos. Then, YOU DONATE THE PAPER TO THE LOCAL SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY. So it’s a win-win.
You costs - $500 . Profit - $3100. Hmmmmm.
So, who could you get to advertise? Well it needs to be a company ’who want to get in the pockets’ of the local students. EG. The local pizza shop, cell phone store, local nightclubs etc.
How about they get a free advetising space in your business card displays as part of the deal?

Has anyone tested selling advertising on the back of copy paper yet…even on a small scale?
Keep it in mind as a side business opportunity to what you’re already doing. For example, if you go into a business to sell advertising in your display, just keep your eyes open to see how much copy paper they use. If they do alot of photocopying, maybe act as a ‘middleman’ and Joint Venture with them…and sell advertising on their copy paper. Hmmmmm. There’s money out there!
I can’t believe how much I think about how to make money from advertising! All good 
Actually, I almost sold advertising on the underside of my aircraft wings so the fuel would become a tax deduction! I flew ‘low level’ along the beach alot…so it would have worked a treat. Ok, now you’re thinking of going down to the local airfeild and pitching this concept to the aircraft owners right? GOOD! Most of them will say yes if you go and find the advertisers. Food for thought.
Why not go put your website on the back of a couple of long-haul trucks, and pay them a small fee? How about the local trucks that stick to the local area? Why not!
Wow…my brain is going crazy with ideas here! Anyone else?

This idea above is such a winner. I’ve spoken to someone who is testing it, and i’ll let you know the results as they come to hand.
There is lots of money in selling advertising…so stay out there!
