Different Ways to Sell Advertising in Your Biz Card Displays
One of the common issues people face is getting creative and finding different ways to sell advertising in their biz card displays. Their are multiple ways to go about filling your displays, and you would have seen in the previous post I wrote an idea about leasing your displays to business owners. This idea below is another ‘angle’ you can use…
When starting any business, you must always be thinking ‘leverage’ and how you can expand what you have already started to make more money for yourself. In this case, your core idea is the biz card display. Before I tell you the idea, here’s what I hear via email from other biz card operators and why I wrote this post… “I’ve managed to get a few customers and also have locations, but I can’t put my displays up yet because there not full of advertisers”. It’s time to think advertising outside the box..
Well it’s not really that far outside the box, but one thing you can do is put your own business cards in the display! I’m not just talking about business cards to sell advertising space, i’m talking about business cards that also sell other things that you do. You might think “I don’t do anything else”… and this may be true, but if you spend one night at the computer, you can quickly find many other ‘businesses’ that you can start overnight for free. HOW?
What i’m suggesting here is that you sell e-books about different topics, and I mean many different topics. For example, you can go to www.clickbank.com and find ebooks on almost any different topic you can think of. It’s free to join and you get a commission of every sale of that book… it’s very simple!
So… you might have a business card in your dispenser about ‘How to grow tomatoes without soil’, ‘How to make money with your computer’, ‘Make money typing from home’… anything you can think of… there are books already written about it. You just sign up (it’s free), and get a split of the profit. No need to write anything, the hard work is done.
How could you make this idea work? Get a business card made up for each topic and put your website address on it. From there, put all the products on one page so when you get someone to your site, they get choices of different ebooks, not just the one they came for… and call the website one generic name to save you registering multipe websites. Something along the lines of ‘cash-flow-institute.com’ or any name you like. It’s really simple, and you can now have a passive income stream from your displays by filling in the empty spaces that you haven’t sold with your own products.
With the various business cards you would need to use for this idea above, don’t go and spend money getting a new design for each, there’s no need. Keep it simple..EG -

In summary, use your displays to make you money, whatever it takes. Maybe you can use it purely as a lead generator for yourself?
Thoughts and feedback welcome.

Someone in the past mentioned that they purchased a cheap open top business card display as a lead generator. What happens with these type of displays is that people will walk past and stick their own cards in it. What you do then is collect their cards and sell them into your other displays.
You could say something along the lines of… “Hi, I picked up your business card out of a business card display in the … mall, have I got the correct number?” Why would you say it like that? Because you want them to admit to putting it there! From there, you can let them know you’re the owner of the display and that you thoughts are that if they put their card there, they are obviously interested in advertising blah blah blah. This sale should be a push over because they’ve already admitted to putting their card there
Anyone tried this (or simular) in the past?
