How the Top Entrepreneurs in the Business Card Advertising Business Think!
So how do you maximise your business card displays before or after you sell the advertising in them?
I’ll touch on a new money making idea for display operators in a moment, but first…..it’s great waking up to see messages in my inbox from business card display operators around the world who have suggestions/questions and ideas on how to accelerate the cash flow with their displays! Although I would prefer you blog your questions, i’m happy to answer them at the same time. Please do your best to blog your questions from now on if you can. Thanks.
All these quality emails I’ve had recently got me to thinking…. these people are actually blossoming into entrepreneurs quite quick! It’s obvious, based on the tonality of the emails, and it’s exciting… results are starting to flow!
So what is another idea you could use to ’speed up the process’ and make some $$$$ in this business alittle quicker? Firstly, you need to remember that everyone wants to make more money… and if you can provide people with a way to make more money, you’ll generally make more money. As long as what you are offering in ethical and above board…then it’s a good thing!
If you already own or operate business card displays, you’ll know that there is money good money to be made with this small business opportunity. If you can see the potential, don’t you think other can also?
One idea that I know works (I know someone who has already done it), is to get as many locations for your displays as possible. Once you have the locations commited on paper, you could then run an advertisement in your local paper saying “Vending machines for sale, already located” as the headline. The reason I say ‘vending machines’, is for 2 reasons… 1) People know what they are, and secondly…that’s essentially all they are!
You could ‘group’ your displays close together, so the person who ends up buying the displays from you doesn’t need to go to far between locations.
Adding value is the key to making more money…period. Buying business card dispensers is one thing, but buying them LOCATED is another. You could simply set up 5-10 displays in each little town/city within your area, and sell them off to get some cash in your pocket right away. Then go ahead and build up your own displays by selling advertising, just the way the business was designed to do in the first place.
Don’t be shy to try something different and think alittle bigger. You have a great opportunity to become an advertising entrepreneur…and you’ll achieve this should you persist.
SUMMARY: If you can create an opportunity for someone else to make money (i.e selling off some of your business card display boards already located), then you make a nice profit, and you can do this over and over again! Simple business ideas like this are generally the best.
Please feel free to comment on this… let’s build this thread with ‘entrepreneurial’ ideas for business card dispenser ‘vending machine’ operators!

Hi all,
I just employed a part time saleperson to sell the advertising in my displays and help grow my business. She is an ex-tele marketer and ex-real estate agent. She only wants to work a couple of days a week but earn a decent income with no stress. I am paying here a percentage commission on all advertising she sells, plus a fixed amount for each new location she finds.
We brain stormed ideas fo an an hour or so and she came up with potential locations and marketing ideas that I had not even thought of and is really really excited about getting stuck into the business.
What a great way to leverage my time, and only pay on RESULTS !, I’d love to hear if anyone else is using a salesperson and how they are working out - let me know

Like everythin in life and business, its best to keep it simple. How I am going to pay her is for all advertising booked and paid for upfront her commision will be 35%, for anything that is paid monthly it is 30%.
Example, most of my sales are for 5 displays at $1 per day per display, thats $35 per week, and they are usually all on a 6 month contract, some on 3 months. So if she sells 3, 6 month advertising contracts per week, thats a total income to the business of 3 x $910 = $2730, her commission will be 3 x $318.50 (35%) = $955.50 - Now I think thats a pretty good part time weekly income for someone selling advertsing on a commission base. The rest is for me $1774.50 - great leverage.
