How to Use Xmas and New Years to Help Your Lead Generation Marketing Campaign
Hi Everyone,
Are you getting ready to start the new year with a money making bang?
I’m currently preparing to do a lead generation marketing campaign in time for the beginning of the new year. Around this time of year I personally wind back from speaking to business owners, because i’ve learn’t over the years that it’s a complete waste of my time. Instead I focus my energy on making changes & tweeks to improve my previous marketing campaigns/ideas etc.
From my experience so far, i’ve found that 90% of other business owners are also winding down around this time of the year, and the last thing they’re going to do is hand over money for marketing and advertising. Most business people in general are thinking “I’m going to relax up until new years, and then have a big year next year” Have you ever thought that? I certainly have… every year… actually, right now!
So today i’m off to the $2 shop to get a bunch of “Happy New Year” cards. On the way back from the shop i’m going to get my note pad and pen out, and jot down the names of 50 businesses in the area along with their address. Then…
I’m going to put a mock cheque in the card with a credit for one month of free advertising… and mail it off with a short message inside along with a brochure. Total cost (including mailing stamps) will be $70 and two hours of my time to write there business name and address on the cards. I’m not sending it ‘to the business owner’… I’m sending it to the ‘business name’, so out of the 50 I send, 45 should get opened. If the results from the 50 goes well, i’ll then roll it out on a bigger scale (but I won’t be writing the cards
). Testing and measuring is key.
At the end of the day, i’m playing this campaign into the hands of their natural way of thinking this time of year… ”Having a big year next year”. Around the 10th Jan. is the perfect time to hit people with an offer, because their minds are open and they’re ‘pumped’ to have a big money making year. Perfect mix!
I’ll get back to you with results on this one… and would be interested to hear if anyone else makes a simular move.
Enjoy xmas everyone!
Dean
