How to Use Vouchers to Sell Advertising
Hi Everyone,
Here I was brainstorming ideas to fill displays, and one simple idea I came up with is using vouchers to sell advertising… but a voucher in the form of sponsorship, not the traditional type voucher you and I picture when we hear that word.
I’m a big fan of using one page salesletters, because they’re quick to write and cheap to produce. So the thought for today is… rather than designing pretty looking vouchers that would usually get thrown in the rubbish anyway (not to mention the time and money to produce them), why not present a voucher to business owners by way of a ’formal looking letter’?
Let me start you off with what you could write, so you can see further into what i’m thinking here:
Dear John,
A recent observation of local ‘bizcardville county’ businesses, has revealed that spending habits by local consumers are starting to drop, therefore effecting the bottom line of profits across many industries. In an effort to improve the local business economy and get more cash flowing into local business owners pockets, there has been a new initiative put in place.
Peter Hampton (your name), a local marketing expert is now sponsoring a portion of advertising dollars spent by businesses in the bizcardville county area. (You then insert your concept and offer here)…..
The idea behind this letter is to make it sound like you are ‘sponsoring’ them rather than offering them a discount voucher for advertising in your business card dispensers.
If anyone has tried this angle in the past, let us know!
