I’ve been out for a while but wanted to catch up a little on the card printing. The program you use for cards is not important so much as is the layout. My program does not give me a nice pdf for my printer. That would be great but I’m not a designer. I do know what sells though, so I lay it out so that my card guy can get the idea that I want. He does not charge to do a little design work.

To those of you starting out, you can always get someone to do the design work for you. Here is an email I got from Mark at www.fullcolorresources.com (Read carefully, it’s a good offer)
“I think that if display dealers sell their customers on that fact that a custom designed card will generate more business that it will not be a problem. Maybe I can even work with them BEFORE they go in to make a sales presentation I can design a card for their prospects business which they can take with them. This should
help them make the sale. I will NOT charge them until the sale is made
and even then I can make changes.”
Good deal! Atleast investigate this offer if anything…could save you alot of time.
This forum only gets better!

For those who are looking for a business card software, you may consider one of the softwares listed below. I just thought that this might help.

Hi Dean,
I’ve designed a card that says SALES REPS WANTED. I’ve placed many of them on all my 32 boards on location, and to my surpise I hired two reps last week and one today. They have already made sales and I’ve agreed to pay them 20% of the gross sales. I’m looking to place 300 boards in my county and hire as many sales reps as possible. I really enjoy your site and love the support you have given me!!
Thanks again,
Mark Ray

Please make sure you don’t place the thin home made business cards in your displays. They just don’t dispense well.Glossy cards with UV coating sometimes don’t dispense either. You simply don’t need a high gloss card in the displays because the cover gives them a shine. I recommend a digital color card on a shiny porcelain paper and use 14pt card stock. Works great!

I bought a cheap business card program so I could put together a layout that I felt would sell. If your finished product looks close to what you put together you have had a minimum of steps/trips/meetings and you have created a good relationship with both your customer and supplier. Your suppliers love it when you make their life easier.
