Is There Already a Billboard Where You Want to Put Your Business Card Display?
Ah hah!
Just remember why you’re in business. To make money! Do some companies undercut, or try alternative methods to sway businesses to use their services for the ‘same’ product? YOU BET
So if you see one of those community billboards stuck up on the wall, you know that you have a potential location staring at you….point blank. The location is obviously open to the idea, because of the simple fact there is a billboard/cork board there already.
So what’s a savvy business card display operator like you to do about this? Let’s put the thinking cap on here and see what we can come up with amongst the many readers of this blog. I’ll start it off…
How can you build the business owner into the deal to get him to switch advertising boards?
You could make him/her feel very guilty by saying that a your supporting a local charity and part of the proceeds will be going to the charity?
You could do a JV with the business owner, whereas he either gets paid a flat fee (which could go to his/her favorite charity) “Wouldn’t you like to contribute to charity Mr/Mrs business owner?” OUCH! That is a nasty closing line that will get a yes 99% of the time
Maybe offer the business owner half of the header section on one of your other displays, or simply put his business cards in one of your other displays?
Oh yes, don’t forget to tell the business owner how crappy and disorganised the cork billboard looks! And while you’re standing at the billboard, don’t forget to pick up all the free leads off the board also!!
So lets here a couple of ideas from everyone, because it’s a situation that you will come up against sooner or later.
