Your comment really makes sense. It seems that you are creating a ‘local’ feel to the business owner when you approach.
Another reason I like this, is because some business owners will feel guilty if they say no…provided that you pitch it correctly of course.
Do you have a charity aswell?

You can take this one step further, Andrew, by asking advertisers “with brick and mortar locations”, to place a door cling or clear decal at their entrance depicting THEY are advertised with your company which supports local business. You can play with what the decal says in the end, but be sure to include a phone # and email so potential advertisers can contact you! I plan to use this method once my boat comes in!

Good point Derrick! It’s good to see you’re thinking ahead of the game.
No doubt you’ve heard the saying “You can have the best product in the world, but if no-one knows about it, it’s worth nothing“. What your post reminded me of Derrick, is that it’s all about marketing your business card display boards as much as you can. Become good at marketing and study it in your spare time, because good marketing coupled with a good offer = customers…which means more money for you!
There are plenty of good books about marketing.
You can post more of those good ideas any day Derrick! Thanks.

In Austin Texas, local businesses are very well supported. So my displays are ONLY for locally owned, independent businesses. When I go to other businesses in town that are locally owned and very popular, they are very open to hosting a display when they find out it’s for locals only. I would say 1 out of every 3 businesses I approach accepts a display. My displays also say “Support Austin’s Locally Owned Businesses” on the header, so the host businesses like that reminder, and like to be seen as an active supporter of other local businesses.
