Yes. I too would be interested in a KISS web site, even though I haven’t started the business yet I can see when I’m ready I will have the info. on a simple web site design ready as I can really see this happening in a big way.
Thanks Dean.

Here is another good use for a website. (I could have also put this post under the ‘packaging’ section of this forum.)
What if you had a basic template website that you could include ‘online coupons’. I just went to google halfway through this sentence and typed in ‘online coupon websites’, and the first listing I came across was this http://www.ultimatecoupons.com/ . It’s very simple.
How could you use this for your business card dispenser business?
You could let the business owner know, that “when they sign a contract with you, they get FREE online advertising on your website included!” This is great packaging and literally takes you 10 minutes to put on your website when you get home that evening.
For those of you who missed it in the post above, julsey mentioned www.godaddy.com . They have basic templates that you can have online very quickly…and they are really easy to change around whenever you need to.
So a website can be used to represent you and your business, and also used to ‘package up’ your offers and add value to the client who advertises in your business card dispenser on either a 6 or 12 month contract!
You can also SELL advertising and business products on your website for additional income aswell???
Go for it!

Here’s a little tip I read about today…
For those of you who have a website for your business card dispensers, or are considering getting one up and going, you should consider how you are actually going to get traffic to it.
Lets say you have your website address on your business card that people can refer to…that’s how you will most likely get people to your site to start with (or by simply mentioning it to people). When they get to your site, you then need to hold them there for as long as you can…and build some credibility for yourself in the meantime.
So, what can you do?
Why not add a page to your website that has ‘10 quick tips to grow your business in the fastest possible time’…or ‘How to get more customers through the your doors then you can handle’. Just write some value added tips and know how to your website and show them that your in the business for the long haul.
Make sure you have an ‘about me’ page that gives them alittle piece of your background… this will also help. You can see what I wrote in my ‘about me’ page on this website for an example. It’s only 4-5 paragraphs.
Maybe an ‘advertising comparison’ page could be good?
Food for thought.
Any other good tips for a business website? (PS I’m going through a learning curve at the moment with the internet, and the basics I do know, but the more advanced…far from it!). I’ll keep you posted of my relevent learnings along the way in this section!

I took your advice and jumped in with a website. I do encourage those getting in to try several pages. I initially went with one and 5 minutes later…I increased. there are so many good hosting companies.
The main reason I think a website is important is it gives you a little more credibility. I pick up business cards everywhere looking for email addresses. I send them an email and steer them to my website. This method has done more for me than anything I’ve tried.
Good Luck!

Hi Folks…
I think I can shed some light on this for everyone as it is a topic I”ve been researching for a few months.
There is a web development platform called Joomla. It makes it fantastically easy to develop a website as well as maintain it.
Both Godaddy and a place called Siteground host Joomla web sites. Joomla is a open source web platform so it is FREE. It’s is very powerful but easy to use.
It now allows me to offer a ‘Free’ website to either the locations or the advertisers as part of a Business Starter Package.
For instance you can get a Siteground ‘1 year’ hosting plan for $39 per year as a reseller.
That’s about $4 per month to maintain their website. Imagine offering a location that does not have a website yet, their own site for as long as you can keep the display in their location. Your cost is $4 per month to host the site! They get a website valued at a few thousand dollars. The Joomla platform is head and shoulders above using the standard site creation tools. You can give them a free opt-in newsletter management component with their site as well as a ‘client only’ area.
You can literally double your advertising fees to the advertisers by offering them a free website as long as they advertise in your display
.
Create a ‘Small Business Startup’ package that gives the person a website, advertising in the displays and 1000 full color business cards for $695- $995. That is a steal!
Then just charge a monthly fee the next year for them to keep their ad in the display and the website going. With the website included will they stop advertising in the display? I don’t think so…
If you need more info just let me know.
Best regards,
Glenn
If anyone wants to joint venture on the website stuff let me know. There’s a ton of money in this for everyone in their local market.

Hi everybody. I’m new to business card display advertising (it’s still an untapped market here in the UK!) but I did gain some valuable experience with one of the UK’s largest display board advertisers before I started on my own.
I own 2 websites. My plan is to sell my space on each board and give my advertisers a free ad on my website. This site is basically an advertising site that will create revenue from click throughs on my google adsense ads and banners.
I have been involved in websites for over 7 years and believe that by offering my advertisers an extra ‘free’ service I will be building even more value into their advertising spend.
So in answer to this post then yes I seriously feel you should have at least one website! They’re inexpensive and can greatly increase both your image and, more importantly, your wallet!
Good luck

There are many cheap ‘templates’ that you can buy on the net these days…and most hosting companies provide you with a site studio anyway which has free templates.
A nice basic website is a good idea when you have the time.
